More than the cars, architecture, the people, the lights, even the music. More than the stars, the other planets, our solar system.
Something that not only gives us hope, but finally meets hope's expectations, We don't even know what it is that we're searching for. It's like being homesick for a place that doesn't exist. It's a blessing & a curse that as humans nothing satisfies us. Game winning shots, getting that million dollar deal, making a successful dinner.... today. There's always something more.
Life.. pushing the speed limit on a wet road, pushing the limit of our alcohol intake, pushing the limit on the amount of fried food we eat in one sitting.
If you think about it we're subconsciously trying to kill ourselves.
We reach the highest mountain peaks & the next thing we do is jump to our deaths.
The journey. After awhile, enough is enough. Maybe that's what heaven is supposed to be. A place where we can finally relax our shoulders.
As a child I used to sit in my room, pitch black dark & dream of what was out there. I used to dream of California... palm trees, hot weather, sandy beaches, purple sunsets. The crazy part about it, when I got there it looked exactly how I dreamt of it. & that gave me even less hope.
Makes me reconsider my images of heaven.
